Aeroplanes are part of modern-day travel. Here we take a quick look at the type of planes that are most frequently used in civil aviation.
Commercial Airliners
These are designed primarily for transporting passengers and cargo. They are further divided into:
Jumbo Jets:
Examples: Boeing 747, Airbus A380
Characteristics: Large capacity (350 to over 600 passengers), long-range capabilities.
Wide-Body Aircraft:
Examples: Boeing 777, Airbus A330
Characteristics: Two aisles, suitable for long-haul flights, spacious cabins.
Narrow-Body Aircraft:
Examples: Boeing 737, Airbus A320 family
Characteristics: Single aisle, typically used for short to medium-haul flights.
Cargo Planes
Specially designed for transporting goods rather than passengers. Examples include:
Boeing 747-8F
Antonov An-225 Mriya
These aircraft often have large cargo holds and can accommodate oversized or heavy loads.
